Delivering translations

How long will the translation take?

The time required to complete a translation depends on the extent and complexity of the text. Typically, a translator can translate 8–10 standard pages per day. To complete and finalize a translation of this size takes approximately three working days, including final checks and dealing with any queries that may arise during the translation. As the extent of the text increases or additional services are added, such as proofreading or document design, the time required to complete the translation increases proportionally.

Do you do express translations?

If you are really pressed for time and need a translation as quickly as possible, we can arrange express translation within the required deadline while still maintaining the highest quality.

Do I need proofreading of the translation to be done?

Proofreading is usually and inseparable part of a translation. The decisive factors here are mainly the purpose and use of the translation itself. For texts intended for publication, we recommend proofreading by native speakers and subsequent pre-press proofreading. We will be happy to advise you on the right choice of proofreading or a suitable combination for your needs. More information can be found in the section dedicated to proofreading.

Who will do the translation?

Our translators are experienced linguists who not only possess the necessary language skills, but are also highly knowledgeable in a given field. We keep expanding our team of qualified translators, native speakers and in-house specialists to cover a wide range of different fields – from IT, technology, engineering and marketing to medicine, law, the arts and more.

Can I get a skilled translator knowledgeable in a given field?

Yes, we can get you a translator who has experience and expertise in your specific field, whether it's law, medicine, engineering, technology, marketing or another specific industry or discipline. What’s more, if you liked the style of a particular translator in your previous translation, we can ensure that that particular person works with you on your next projects.

How do you ensure the quality of translations?

We are constantly improving our internal processes to increase the value of the services we offer. Each translation undergoes a thorough final review to make sure that all the necessary steps were taken to ensure the perfection of the result. Any resulting changes or feedback are usually implemented promptly and free of charge.

What does the localization process involve?

The localization process is especially about adapting the content to the cultural, regional, and linguistic specifics of the target region. It involves translating the text, proofreading it, and modifying the graphics or application interface to make it best suit the target market. The key is to preserve the meaning and purpose of the original content while making it appealing and compelling for the target audience.

Certified translations

Can you provide certified translations?

Yes, we provide certified translations (or sworn translations with a clause), which are required for communication with authorities, courts and other institutions in the Czech Republic or abroad. You can find more information on our page dedicated to certified translations or just contact us.

What to do to obtain a certified translation?

Contact us directly or use our non-binding request form and send us a complete scan/photo of the document you need translated. Specify the requirements for the translation, which may vary depending on who the translation is intended for and which country it will be sent to. Learn more here.

What form will the translation be delivered in?

You can receive the completed certified translation in printed (hard copy) or electronic form. The printed translation is attached to the original document (usually the official copy), furnished with the certified translator’s clause, signature and official stamp. You can pick up the translation at our office in Brno or have it sent by post or courier of your choice.

Can you also do electronic certified translations?

We also offer electronic certified translations. These translations are supplied in PDF/A format, furnished with a qualified electronic signature and a time stamp. They are valid for 5 years and are delivered by email, eliminating the time-consuming distribution of printed documents (hard copies). However, it is important to note that some authorities do not accept electronic translations yet.

What is an apostille and when do I need it?

An apostille is a higher level of document certification and it is especially intended to be used abroad. You need it if you will be submitting a certified translation abroad, especially in countries that do not have a bilateral international legal assistance agreement with the Czech Republic. However, we always recommend consulting the specific requirements for document certification with the given office/institution for which the certified translation is intended. Not sure what to do?
